Hostess Twinkies

  • Probably the most recognised 'sweet' in our shop along with Lucky Charms and M&M's.

A lot of people ask us if we have 'those Twinkie things from Zombieland.' And the answer is yes, yes we do. If you haven't seen it, Zombieland is about a gun-wielding guy on the run from zombies whilst trying to find the last Twinkie in existence. We won't spoil it for you if he does or not though. Maybe you could rent the movie while you munch your way through a box of Twinkies!

Twinkies have been around since 1930 and they are still going strong today. They stopped making them for a small while due to money issues but the demand for them back was seriously high so they managed to sort it out and now Twinkies are back on the shelf much to everyone's delight. There's a rumour that Twinkies never go out of date but we can confirm that the shelf life is 45 days. Though there is a story in the papers that a school teacher in the USA kept his Twinkie in a container for 30 years, and it still kinda looked edible...
